The “Key” To It All

Here is the BMW M6. A beautiful piece of machine designed and engineered to make any driving experience a grand one. From comfort to luxury to performance this machine has it all!

As eye catching and breath taking it is, it completely useless without one thing. One small thing designed to fit in your pocket, one small, usually inexpensive (even though this certain one can run around $175) thing can keep this car idle. It can keep it stationary, the engine ineffective, the horsepowers dead, the super chargers quiet; it can keep it locked up somewhere not doing what it’s designed to do. What is this powerful, small device? It’s the key.

Now for the whole point of this post. No, I’m not a salesman for BMW or their key fobs. I want to show you what was revealed to me a few months back.

The church is primed to be a soul winning, life impacting, Holy Ghost powered, movement destined to fulfill the Great Commission. But as beautiful as our congregations are, as dynamic our worship services can be, as awe inspiring our sermons can be; if we lack one small, simple thing we can be ineffective.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

Faith is the key to it all. With faith the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains. We have to get back to living, depending, praying, seeking God, worshipping on faith. Faith is the key that activates the whole thing. A lot of times we want to have it all figured out, it all lined out, no surprises; but while planning and being organized is a great thing, there has to be a factor of faith inside the whole thing. Faith helps us through the unknown. It helps us lean on the Lord and not our own understanding. Faith turns our focus on God and not on the problem.

Being a Christian in America…

I read, as everyone else has, of Christians in the Middle East being crucified, beheaded, raped, sold into sex slavery, shot in execution style all because they denounced Islam/Muslim faith and took a stand for Christ. My stomach turned as these stories, gruesome tales, are told through news reports, eye witness accounts, and propaganda videos. As I sat in church yesterday listening to my Pastor speak on how God is stretching us and sometimes we don’t like it, my mind began to wonder to a time where I was so quick to say, I am not going back to church because of this or that. I begin to think about how Christians in the Middle East have to go in hiding, constantly on the run, always having to look over their shoulders. I begin to feel convicted in my own self and I asked God to forgive me because I have taken Christianity in America for granted. I have taken the liberty to come and go from a house of worship freely without persecution or threat of death for granted.

My challenge to you is simple, it’s the same challenge God laid on my heart, to serve Him 125% until the end. Don’t let simple things keep you out of church. Don’t let a headache, stomach ache, being tired, other things in life keep you from the house of God. Instead be the one who is there when the doors are open. Rather it is prayer meeting, worship practice, Bible study, cleaning day, or whatever it may be; be there! Support your pastor!! Support them in prayer and encouraging words. Support the leadership of your church the same. Don’t be ashamed to stand up for Jesus and remember when you feel like throwing in the towel; think about how easy we have here in America. Remember we are Christians in America, we have the liberty and freedom to worship our Sovereign God without fear of death or persecution.

I leave you with this…”not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but EXHORTING one another, and so much more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25 (NKJV)

Atheist Mega-“Church”?

A dear friend of mine posted an article on Facebook earlier this month that I just got around to reading this weekend.  It was about an Atheist mega-church movement that is happening across the globe.  This struck me as interesting because it seemed that why would a group of people who don’t believe in God want to start a “church” for other people who don’t believe in God?

Here is the link to the article for you to read for yourself –

Now there are a lot of things that pop out to me in this article.  One is that they aren’t there to bash other believers but to have a support group for other atheists.  Okay, I can understand that and even respect that but why call it a CHURCH?! The very first paragraph ends like this, “an inspirational sermon, a reading and some quiet reflection. The only thing missing was God.”  I wonder is this what Paul was warning Timothy about in 2 Timothy 3:1-7.  Verse 5 really states this plainly, “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.”

The old statement, “If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, acts like a duck; its a duck.”  Well this simply isn’t the case.  This is a group of people who can want to have fellowship with other “non-believers” and instead of calling it a group, club, movement, and the list can go on and on; they decided to call it a “church”.  To me, in my honest opinion, this should be an eye-opener to the CHURCH today!!  Honestly what separates our church services from their “church” services??  They have music, most churches have music.  They have a inspirational sermon, most churches have an inspirational sermon.  They draw close to together through fellowship and helping their fellow “believer”, same as we do.  SO WHAT SEPARATES US??  Well, let me rephrase that, WHAT SHOULD SEPARATE US??  It should be the power of God.

Look back at the book of Acts, what drew the crowd to the people in the upper room??  It was the power of God.  What drew the woman with the issue of blood to Jesus?  It was His healing power.  The stories from the Bible can go on and on.  So lets make it a little more real.  What drew people to the Revival at Brownsville??   What drew people to the outpouring in Topeka, Kansas??  What drew people to the tent revivals of Billy Graham, Oral Roberts and others??  IT WAS THE POWER OF GOD!!!  I truly believe that we can become so worried about offending someone and so worried about hurting someone’s feelings, or running people off that we can really and truly put God in a box.  We can really 100% forget the One who sets us apart.  Read 1 Peter 2:9.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9(NKJV)

God has chosen us to be His people.  To be the light in the darkness, to point those who are lost to the wonderful saving grace in Calvary.  We need to be sure and put Jesus in the center of everything we do in our CHURCH and CHURCH SERVICES.  My prayer is that we experience and allow the presence of God to flow in our services like never before.  That we begin to see the lame leap, the dumb speak, the deaf to hear, the blind to see.  Marriages put back together, broken hearts restored, addicts delivered, chains broken, lives set free!!!  I pray we begin to allow God to move in the churches of America again and that we realize that it is not about us sitting on the church pew, but the ones who are lost in the world!

Be blessed!!!!

Interesting Find….Take a Look

First let me start out by saying I do believe in demonic forces.  I do believe they can dwell in people and take control of them.  (Mark 5:1-16) This video that I have embedded in this post brings up some very interesting points.  What are we listening too but greater than that what are we letting our kids listen too???   It is a long video but worth watching every minute of it.  Be blessed!!!

My Election Rant (well sort of….)

While watching the election unfold last night in my nice, warm bed next to my wife my mind began to wonder with what happens if Obama wins.  What happens if Romney wins?  What happens if we are deadlocked?  It hit me so hard even after we found Obama won, my mind would not stop running stupid apocalyptic scenarios in my mind.  It became so overwhelming I had to change to channel to sports and break out the Bible on my phone.  This helped me to chill enough for me to go to sleep and when I woke up there was a peace about the whole situation.

Now I do understand the talk surrounding Obama and what another four years mean.  I understand all the talk about the Forward slogan and how it is mainly tied to communism and socialism.  I also understand all the talk surrounding the martial law signing, the gun control situation, and the trying to do away with the upper class and how all of this is tied to socialism.  I understand that socialism and communism doesn’t come in like a bull in a china store but comes quietly and softly then takes hold.  Now after reading all of this one can say, “Hey fatboy, you are calling Obama a socialist and he is trying to turn America into a socialist nation, and your also fat.”  Well, I am not outright, flat-out saying Obama is a socialist or trying to turn this nation into a socialist nation but I am saying if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and swims like a duck, it isn’t a cow in a duck costume; it’s a duck.

But the most amazing this is, is the revelation I received this morning.  We have all read 2 Chronicles 7:14,

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Lets look at the very first, “If MY PEOPLE” who is the Lord talking to here?  He is talking to the church of course.  He isn’t talking to the sinners, the atheists, the agnostics, or any other person; He is talking to the church.  It is time for the church to repent.  It is time for us instead of griping about the situation and do like my Pastor has been saying the last month, PRAY FOR THE OFFICE, DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!!!!  It is also time for the church of America to quit worrying about who we are offending, who we are trying to baby, who we are trying to sugar coat the Gospel for; and PREACH THE WORD OF GOD!!!  It is time for the church of America to quit worrying about what Spiritual background you’ve come from and start being more concerned with are their souls ready for Heaven.  Yes the road is going to get bumpy.  Yes we are facing trying time, but we have a hope!!!

Next part of the verse states, “who are called by my name shall humble themselves…”  Pride comes before a great fall is what it states in Proverbs.  The church needs to learn humility.  It isn’t about your grammy who started the church 125 years ago and bought the first pew and organ in the church.  Worship time in church isn’t about you either, IT IS ABOUT JESUS!!!! Humbleness is what we need to long for!!!

“Pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways…”  Again He is talking to the church, not the sinners!!!  We are so worried about prayer being taken out of the schools that prayer is being taken out of the church and home.  We used to spend 10 days praying and preach for 10 minutes now we pray for 10 minutes and preach for 10 hours.  It is time to seek His face not the face of Jetenzen Franklin, Joel Olsteen, TD Jakes, Benny Hinn, Rod Parlsey; but the face of the Lord!!!  It is time to seek His face so earnestly that we can’t stop until we breakthrough, we can’t stop until we begin to see an AWAKENING in the Spirit realm and a release of His Shekinah Glory on our churches!!!  No longer should Ichabod be wrote on the doorposts of the church, but the Spirit should be so strong people can’t help but when they drive into the parking lot, drive by the church, they begin to feel the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.  It is also time we get rid of the sin in the camp.  Who cares who we offend because I rather offend you here than have you be happy and bust Hell wide open.  Sin is Sin, no way around it, no loopholes!  Just because society says it is ok, doesn’t mean that God says its ok.  Read His word, pray and seek His face, and it is time for the game playing in the church to stop.

Now, “then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  Don’t worry about who is in the Oval Office because we know the One holds the whole Earth in Their hands.  Don’t worry about what is to come because weeping may endure for the night but JOY comes in the morning!!!!!!  Man I feel the Holy Spirit as I am typing this!!!  I am about to shout!!!!!!!!!!!!  Obama might be the president but I know One who is greater; His name is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning star, the Risen King, the One who sits at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for you and me!!!  I SERVE THE ONE WHO CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, AND IF HE CAN SEE THE LITTLE SPARROW AND KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT AND KNOWS THE NUMBER OF HAIRS ON MY HEAD; I KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT HE WILL, I SAID, HE WILL TAKE CARE OF ME!!!!!  As the Psalmist said in Psalms 121:1-2, “I will lift my eyes to the hill-From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord who made the Heaven and Earth”

I pray you feel the peace that I begin to feel at 6:00 this morning, because I know the One who said He will never leave nor forsake.  Be encouraged!!!

I’ll take the water downed medicine, said no one ever

Imagine with me if you will, you are sick, I mean really sick. The kinda of sick where everything including your hair hurts. It hurts to move, hurts to think, hurt to breathe, it even hurts to blink. So you go to the doctor, he figures out your problem and prescribes you a medicine. Now when you get the medicine from the pharmacy I am pretty sure you can see the illness ending right then and there. You get all happy and just can’t wait to get home to take the medicine and kiss this sickness goodbye. Now we all have been here, we open the bottle, smell it and it turns our stomach. We pour out the correct measurement, hold our nose, take the medicine like a boss, and gag for 5 minutes after. Been there? Can you relate? Have you ever wondered why the medicine that works the best taste so bad?? Who remembers Caster Oil? I (thank the good Lord above) never had to take the stuff but I remember stories of how bad it taste. Now, let me ask you this; did the medicine work? Did it cure your illness? Did it make the problems you had before go away? 8 out 10 times it did. It did exactly what it was created/intended to do. Now lets think about this in a spiritual sense.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. -Hebrews 4:12

The word of God is powerful. It cuts, it hurts, but it is the truth. The old saying, “The truth hurts.” is oh so true. Sometimes we wonder why the church and the people in it are in the shape they are in; it is because some pastors have become people pleasers and not God pleasers. They have water downed the Gospel truth to the point where it is to no avail. We do not want to hear the truth because it hurts, so its please me preacher. What would happen if we took water downed medicine? Would it work? NO!!! It is now time to take the word of God seriously, no matter how bad it hurts, no matter how much it makes us change, no matter how much we don’t like the change. Sin is fun and anyone who tells you it is not is a liar, but it is only fun for a season. The word of God states this but there again we don’t like it so we don’t accept it. And the list could go on and on.

Pray with me that preachers in America get a backbone if they are preaching a water down Gospel. Pray with me that Christians in America get a backbone and present the WHOLE Gospel to those who are dying and in need.

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. -Mark 16:15-18

What more do we need??? This is what Jesus told us to do!!!! No more can we water down the “medicine” this world needs, but we have to PREACH THE GOSPEL to anyone and everyone!!!

Man, that offended me…

How many times have you heard this one?  It is the king daddy of excuses that people use when it comes to hearing something about Jesus that takes them out of their comfort zone.  So as you can tell, this got me thinking (and from my blog timeline, you can tell I don’t do that often) and here is what i felt to write about.

Picture with me if you will, a person walking down the sidewalk listening to their iPod, reading a book, and talking on the phone.  Pretty distracted, eh?  Traffic on the road is moving pretty fast and all of a sudden this person just turns to walk into the road.  Now this person has never looked up from their book to see the traffic, turned off their iPod to hear the traffic, or..well you get my point.  Now they are about to look like really thin pancake, what do you do?  Would you think before yelling…
“Hey self…”
“Oh, hey”
“Do I yell at this person, run over and grab them, and do everything I can to save them?”
“Naw, that will offend them.  We don’t want to do that.”
“Oh ok, well good talking to ya, we should do it again sometime.”

NO, if this was real, you would do everything in your power to save that person!!!  But in the spirit realm we do this everyday!!!  Think of ten people you have at least have acquainted, have a friendship, or just talk to more than once on a daily basis.  How many times just to those ten have you shared the good news with??  What stops us…can I let you in on a little secret; its this “well, I probably offend them.”  The other excuse is, “I don’t want to make it seem like I am judging them.”  I know these things because I have used them.  But I have came to the point, that I am going to share the good news, even it may seem to offend.

Back to my example, that person might look at you funny, yell back at you for grabbing them, or just yell back because you yelled at them; but when they realize what you have just helped saved them from, of course they will be grateful.  Same way spiritually, the people you share the good news with might look at you funny, (don’t grab them, assault is a crime) or they might tell you to shut up.  But one day, after we don’t give up on them, after we stop worrying about are we offending them; they will look back and see what you were trying to do.

Now here are some tips on what I have learned the last year that has helped me share the good news…

1. Pray and ask God for opportunities during the day.
2. Make a list of ten people who you have a relationship built with, because the truth comes easier from a friend than a total stranger, that you know need Jesus Christ.  Start with ten then build to twenty, thirty, and so on.
3. Pray for everyone on that list daily.  Even if they tell you to stop telling them about Jesus, pray for them.
4. Take every open door God gives you and run with it.  If you need more open doors, refer to #1.
6. Pray during the day and ask God to give you the words, and to get those words, you have to read your Bible.
7. Finally, rely on God more than you do yourself…this will make things ten times easier.

Now you be reading this and realize that maybe you are that person who is about to walk into traffic.  Maybe you have just realized that you are in the need of a savior, well if you are realizing that take time and ask God to forgive you.  His salvation is free and open to anyone, all you have to do is ask.  Just open you mouth and mean it from your heart, and ask God to forgive you of all your sins and ask Him to be the Lord of your life.

If you need more help or just want to talk…email me @ or if you have my Facebook, msg me there.

Much love,
